Last week, we made a Sunday afternoon visit to NextFab to check out their amazing DIY innovation labs, located at 20th and Washington St in Philadelphia. Their mission is to foster innovation and manufacturing, giving people the facilities, equipment, training, and environment to build next generation technologies. We heard from several people that NextFab is an incredible place for engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs, artists, and just about anyone interested in DIY to pursue projects, so we had to check it out! After touring the facilities, I highly recommend seeing it in person. And, if you don’t live in Philly, there are similar innovation spaces popping up across the US—check out the end of the article for more details. Okay, time for a (virtual) tour!

Interested to learn more and maybe even visit? Check them out online or go take a tour. Or, check out their Open Studio Nights at North Fourth, their newest facility.
Don’t live in Philly? Check out Fab Labs, which can be found around the world or do some searching in your city. Innovation playgrounds are starting to pop up in many large metro areas. Happy creating!
